The area we will using this year is
called the "Q". East of the Pavilion
and West of the Children's Statue. Please see
maps below.
Loading and unloading will not be as easy as previous years,
but with everyone's cooperation this concept will work to
everyone's advantage. We are confident that the shade will
create a more comfortable experience for you as well as
our guests.
We will have 25 defined spaces on the pavement.
These are best suited for sculpture, pottery, glass, fragile
or heavy work.
The rest of the spaces are on the grass and are
"Artist's Choice". Pick a spot that will
be shaded, especially in the afternoon, anywhere you want.
First come first serve.
PLEASE REMEMBER
Canopies should be weighted but STAKING IS STRICTLY
PROHIBITED by Parks and Rec.
Honest, you don't want to mess with Jo Jo the park administrator!
Please, no free candy. Our clean-up crew
is all volunteer and though guests are considerate about
throwing away plates and cups, most wrappers end up on the
ground.
If we see free candy our volunteers get to eat it all.
ENTRY
Entry is from Steel Street at 17th Avenue. The gate will
be open from 9:30 till 11. Once you enter the park, you
will receive a packet with Sales Tax schedules and Credit
Card instructions.
UNLOADING
As you pick an area, park as close as you can, NO DOUBLE
PARKING, and unload. We will have volunteers watch your
property. Please park at the defined Vendor's Parking area
before setting up. We will also have volunteers assist you
transport your property to a suitable site.
END TIME
Since this is our first event in cooperation with City Park
Jazz (CPJ), we can not accurately foresee how sales and
attendance will be after 6pm.
We expect to get a huge rush in excess of 5000 guests between
4:30 and 6 and hope they all will visit your booths. After
the CPJ starts however, we are not sure if they will continue
to visit our booths or settle in for the concert.
You may leave anytime after 6pm. If you feel it is worthwhile
to stay during the CPJ concert, you are welcome to.
LOADING
Loading is going to require some sensitivity to the crowd
west of Steele Street.
Please pack your property and move it to the Steel Street
Gate. We again will have volunteers watching your property.
You may park for loading anywhere East of Steele.
PLEASE HELP US MAKE THIS PARTNERSHIP
WITH CPJ A SUCCESS BY COOPERATING WITH LOADING AND DEPARTURE.
BE CAREFUL, there will
be pedestrian traffic.
If CPJ likes us there then our future attendance and sales
will greatly increase. We fully expect this partnership
to bring a huge increase in attendence and this layout to
offer increased shade and comfort.
